Personalised question vows

Rather than writing personal vows themselves, Alex and Romee chose to have me, as their wedding celebrant, create personalised question vows for them.

Using everything I had learnt about their relationship, I wrote questions that reflected who they are as a couple, what they value in one another and the promises they wanted to make as they began married life together. It was a lovely way to make their vows personal. It felt much more natural to them.

A natural wedding ceremony at Loseley Park

Romee and Alex adore nature, so it’s no surprise that their wedding ceremony took place in the traditional English gardens of Loseley Park in Guildford.

To complement the natural setting, Alex and Romee opted not to have any music during their ceremony. Instead, Romee walked down the aisle to the natural sounds of the garden. There was something so special about this choice. Alex and Romee didn’t need any of the extra stuff to make their wedding ceremony feel special or personal. The beautiful gardens, the people they love and the ceremony we had created together were more than enough.

And I think that’s such a lovely reminder that your wedding ceremony doesn’t have to follow a particular formula. It doesn’t need all the traditional elements simply because that’s what weddings are ‘supposed’ to have.

Your wedding ceremony, your way

With a celebrant-led wedding, you truly have the freedom to make your ceremony feel like you. That might mean a wedding ceremony with all the bells and whistles, packed with personal stories, music, rituals and plenty of laughter. Or it might be something much simpler and more understated, with little fuss but exactly the same amount of love. There really is no right or wrong way - I’m here for both, and everything in between!
