I’m fortunate enough to be a recommended wedding celebrant at Gate Street Barn in Surrey, so it’s always a joy when couples discover me through the venue. Taz and Sam first came across my profile on Gate Street Barn’s preferred suppliers list before reaching out to me on Instagram, and from our very first conversation I knew their Gate Street Barn wedding was going to be something rather special.
When we first met, we had a wonderfully open and honest conversation about why a celebrant-led wedding ceremony felt like the right choice for them. They loved my collaborative approach to creating a completely bespoke ceremony and found real comfort in knowing exactly who would be standing with them on their wedding day. Unlike a registrar-led ceremony, where you may not meet the person conducting your ceremony until the day itself, they valued building a relationship with the person telling their story.
Another aspect that really appealed to them was the opportunity to rehearse their ceremony together at Gate Street Barn before the wedding. As with many couples, the thought of walking down the aisle and standing in front of all of their favourite people felt a little daunting. Being able to walk through everything together beforehand helped ease those nerves, allowing them to arrive on the day feeling relaxed, prepared and able to soak up every moment.
Taz and Sam envisioned a wedding that felt effortless, intimate and deeply personal - one where every detail reflected who they are and one that didn’t bow to traditions and expectations. Taz was even barefoot throughout the wedding ceremony, which perfectly suited her style. This choice simply felt natural to her and allowed her to feel totally grounded throughout their wedding ceremony at Gate Street Barn.
